5 Tips for a Brand using Pinterest

1. Branch Out
Don’t pin exclusively your products/ services.Do come up with creative ways to link to a theme that pertains to your products and pin those things. If,for example, you represent a retail clothing store instead of posting only items you carry in store, have a pin board of celebrities wearing similar styles to what you carry and pointing out the

2. Give the people what they want
Pin things that are relevant to your target market. If you are a family restaurant you should pin things about kids or items for mom, like do it yourself games, natural cleaning tips, or a quick family dinner recipe board.

3. Make connections
Incorporate more unexpected elements of your business into your boards, if you are an Italian restaurant you might have an Italy travel board and pin popular sites and hidden Jems. You can make it a little more personal. Has someone in your company been to one of these places? Share some travel tips. New Pins are repined like wild fire when they are useful and something that hasn’t already circulated 100 times.

4. Join the community
Follow other business like yours and customers who start following your boards. Others can’t see who you follow, but it will help you stay current on what your audience is interested in and talking about.

5. Stay ethical
Make sure all pins you put up, like, and comment on as your brand are tasteful and do not offend. You might find something you personally like,, but it could be seen as offensive to some consumers. A good rule of thumb is if grandma wouldn’t like it don’t tie it to your brand.
