Whoooooo Is Turning 1? – Owl 1st Birthday

This year one of my favorite people turned 1!

Ms Lucy absolutely loves her Hootie aka owl blankie so her mom decided that should be the theme of her very first birthday party. I offered to make some items for the party.

Her mom is quiet the accomplished baker and cake decorator, so she had that piece of the party covered

To help out I created a birthday
girl outfit including an owl onsie, teal tiara, and a fluffy purple and white tutu ( birthday MUST).

I also created a banner with card stock and hand written letters of “Happy Birthday Lucy.” I created some tissue paper tassel streamers in teal and purple to hang from the mantel. Large number one was a team effort designed and decorated by me but

constructed by my husband out of card board, it is probably more structurally sound than any prop requires. Pom Pom streamers hung from the stairs are not pictured, but are one of my favorite cra

fts to make from yard and a few store bought pom poms.

While I usually like to make all the decorations for parties I did splurge a little a buy some great owl decor from Michael’s. Luckily owls have been very trendy lately and there was a plethora of decorations to choose from. I bought a tin purple owl, two 3d paper owl kits, balloons and owl window clings.

The great thing about the purchased decorations is they are now used in Lucy’s room for decorations! She loves them and I love that they still go to good use!

The Birthday Girl had a great time so we will chock this part up as a success!
